AOMEI Partition Assistant Review (2026): What the Vendor Says About Editions and Features
A research-based review of AOMEI Partition Assistant built from the vendor's own pages: the free Standard edition, paid editions, partitioning, cloning, conversion, supported Windows versions and licence types. Not lab-tested.
AOMEI Partition Assistant
AOMEI Partition Assistant is partition and disk-management software for Windows with a free Standard edition and paid editions for personal, server, enterprise and technician use. This review is based on the vendor's pages only, and the vendor's edition table shows its feature marks as graphics that we could not read as text.
Pros
- A free Standard edition covers resizing, moving, extending, shrinking and merging partitions, disk cloning and MBR to GPT conversion (vendor)
- Cloning and OS migration from an MBR hard disk to a GPT SSD are described
- Conversion between MBR and GPT, basic and dynamic disks, primary and logical partitions, and FAT32 and NTFS is listed
- Security and health tools are listed: wiping, file shredding, BitLocker encryption, bad-sector checks and defragmentation
- A 90-day money-back guarantee is stated on the edition page
Cons
- Windows software; the Mac product the vendor lists is a separate NTFS driver
- The edition comparison table shows feature marks as graphics, so we cannot say which paid edition adds which feature
- Data recovery is sold as a separate PartitionAssistant Recovery product, and the comparison table also lists recovery rows
- Major version upgrades may require an upgrade fee, according to the vendor
- Prices are not published here; they are on the vendor's store pages
AOMEI Partition Assistant is partition and disk-management software for Windows. The vendor describes it as an easy and safe way to manage, optimise and protect hard drives, and sells it in several editions, one of them free. This review summarises what the vendor’s pages state.
Look at AOMEI Partition Assistant if
- You want a free tool to resize, move, merge or clone partitions on a Windows PC.
- You are upgrading to an SSD and want to clone a disk or migrate Windows.
- You need to convert a disk between MBR and GPT.
Look elsewhere if
- You use a Mac and need partitioning: the vendor lists only an NTFS read and write tool for Mac.
- You need a confirmed edition-by-edition feature list: the vendor's table does not show it as text.
- You want a side-by-side with another vendor; see our AOMEI vs EaseUS comparison.
What the vendor says about editions
The vendor says there are five editions that mainly differ in licensing and functionality. Standard is free for personal and home use. Professional is for Windows PCs, Server adds Windows Server support for small and medium-sized businesses, Unlimited can be installed on any number of computers within one company, and Technician is for service providers who offer billable support. The edition table shows yearly and lifetime licence options. Its licence rows list one licence for two computers, one for five computers, and licences for unlimited computers, but because the table’s marks are graphics, we cannot match each row to an edition with certainty.
What the free Standard edition includes
The vendor lists resizing, moving, extending, shrinking and merging partitions without data loss, disk cloning to upgrade a drive, MBR to GPT conversion, a Windows To Go creator, junk-file removal, and support for Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 and 7. A Windows ARM64 download is also offered for Standard.
Features the vendor lists across the product
- Manage: create, delete, format, resize, move, merge, wipe and hide partitions; split partitions and allocate free space are named in the edition table.
- Clone and migrate: clone a partition or whole disk, and migrate the operating system from an MBR hard disk to a GPT SSD.
- Convert: MBR and GPT, basic and dynamic disks, primary and logical partitions, and FAT32 and NTFS file systems.
- Security: secure wiping, file shredding and BitLocker-based partition encryption.
- Health: defragmentation, bad-sector scan and repair, and disk health monitoring.
- Tools: a Windows 11 upgrade checker, and bootable USB, ISO or CD media to repair a PC that will not start.
Related products and platforms
The vendor sells data recovery (PartitionAssistant Recovery, with free, professional and technician editions), a PC cleaner and an NTFS for Mac tool as separate products. The edition table lists Windows Server 2025, 2022, 2019, 2016 and 2012 as supported, without saying in text which editions cover them. Standard lists Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8 and 7 on the home page.
Refunds and upgrades
The vendor states a 90-day money-back guarantee, which it calls unconditional. It says minor updates are free and that major upgrades may require an upgrade fee unless you bought lifetime free upgrades; the size of the fee is not stated. See the current price on the AOMEI Partition Assistant store pages for your region.
What is not stated
- Which paid edition adds which feature: the table’s marks are graphics, so they were not readable to us.
- The amount of the major-upgrade fee.
- Independent test results for resizing, cloning or conversion safety: the vendor’s pages do not provide any. The vendor’s own success-rate claims are not independently verified.
- System requirements such as disk space and RAM: the pages we read do not list them.
