EdrawMind is Edraw’s mind-mapping software, sold under the Wondershare name. The vendor describes it as a way to make mind maps, slides, Kanban and Gantt views and notes with AI and templates. This review summarises what the vendor’s own pages state about features, platforms, free-trial limits and the way it sells plans.
Look at EdrawMind if
- You want a mind-mapping tool with notes, Kanban and Gantt views in one place.
- You want to start from a prompt, a file or a web page and have AI draft the map.
- You work on Linux as well as Windows or macOS, or switch between desktop and phone.
Look elsewhere if
- You need technical diagrams such as UML, circuits or floor plans: the vendor sells EdrawMax for that (see our EdrawMax review).
- You need OCR in languages other than Chinese and English: no others are listed.
- You want a side-by-side with other tools; see our diagram and mind-map tools guide.
What the vendor says about features
The product page lists a mind map maker alongside concept map, bubble map, brace map, sunburst, timeline, tree diagram, fishbone, org chart, Gantt chart, spider diagram, family tree and Kanban makers, and note taking. It states 52 themes, 30 layouts and hundreds of built-in shapes and icons, and says documents can be attached to or written inside map nodes. The vendor also describes turning PDFs, PPTX files, web pages and videos into mind maps, and a slideshow mode. The tech specs add an infinite canvas, outliner mode and a formula and table editor.
AI tools
The vendor lists a Mind Map Agent that starts from a prompt, a file, a web page or an existing map, plus AI generation of mind maps, org charts, concept maps, timelines and slides. The plan table shows a small AI token allowance in the free trial and unlimited tokens on paid plans. We could not find the exact meaning of a token on the pages we read.
Platforms and system requirements
The tech specs page lists these platforms:
- Windows: Windows 11 and below, a Pentium 4 or equivalent processor, 512 MB of RAM (1 GB recommended) and 1 GB of free disk space.
- Mac: Mac OS X 10.12 and later, with the same processor, memory and disk figures.
- Linux: Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS, openSUSE, Mint, Knoppix, Red Hat, Gentoo and more.
- Android: Android 5.1 and above. iOS: iOS 11 and above.
- Web: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari and more.
Desktop apps can convert MindManager, XMind, EdrawMax, Freemind, Markdown, HTML and Word files. OCR is listed for Chinese and English only.
Plans and trial limits
The pricing page lists semi-annual and annual subscriptions that renew automatically unless cancelled, with access on three PCs, three mobiles and online. It also lists a perpetual plan for the EdrawMind V14 desktop app with mobile and online access for three years, and a bundle that adds EdrawMax. An optional Edraw Creative Assets add-on has a seven-day free trial. The comparison table shows that the free trial exports with a watermark, plays only the first five slides and traverses only the first five topics. The FAQ says a perpetual plan covers a major version and that ending a subscription leaves you with a free account whose files stay accessible. The vendor states a 30-day money-back guarantee, with refunds approved under accepted circumstances. See the current price on EdrawMind’s pricing page for your region.
What is not stated
- The pages we read do not say what an AI token is or how many one map uses.
- Independent test results for performance or file-import accuracy: the vendor’s pages do not provide any.
- Features that appear only on vendor pages we did not open, such as the vendor’s help centre and templates gallery.
