Pricing: see the vendor's pricing page

HiPDF is an online PDF tool from Wondershare that edits, converts, compresses, OCRs and summarises PDFs in the browser, with links to a desktop app, mobile apps and browser extensions. The page describes free use but does not state usage caps, file size or page limits, or the pricing model. Its affiliate link is not yet tracked; the page's own links are used for now.

Pros

  • Edits, converts, compresses, merges, splits, OCRs and protects PDFs in the browser (vendor)
  • Lists AI tools for chatting with a PDF, summarising, translating and proofreading (vendor)
  • Links to iOS and Android apps, a Chrome extension and a Google Workspace add-on (vendor)
  • The page describes the service as online with no downloads required (vendor)

Cons

  • The page does not state usage caps, file size or page limits for free use
  • The pricing model is not stated, and the page links to a general shop rather than a pricing page
  • Some templates are only available to licensed users of PDFelement for Windows, according to the page
  • The translation coverage differs within the page (30+ and 50+ languages); the vendor's '20,000+ users' is a claim

How this review was made. This is a research-based review, not a lab test. Every claim comes from the vendor's own homepage, read on 26 October 2026 and listed at the bottom. Where the vendor does not say something, we write "not stated". We do not publish prices: see the vendor's pricing page for your region. Language counts, user numbers and compression speed are the vendor's own claims.

Look at HiPDF if

  • You need a quick PDF edit, conversion or compression without installing software.
  • You want OCR on scanned PDFs.
  • You work on a phone or in a browser and want the same tools there.

Look elsewhere if

  • You work with confidential or very large files and need the usage limits confirmed first; the page does not state them.
  • You need the pricing model confirmed; the page does not state it.
  • You want a full desktop PDF editor; see our PDFelement review.

What the vendor says it does

The homepage describes HiPDF as “an All-in-one Free Online PDF Solution”. It lists editing (text, colour, font size, cropping, rotation, images and shapes), conversion to and from Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JPG, HTML and PUB, and OCR for scanned PDFs.

Other tools are compression at high, medium and low levels, merging, splitting, rearranging, password protection, unlocking, redaction and signing.

The AI tools include chatting with a PDF, summarising and explaining documents, rewriting, translating, proofreading, an AI content detector and a PDF-to-mind-map tool.

Free use

The page uses terms such as “Free Trial”, “Time-Limited Free Trial” and “Login to freely use”, but does not state usage caps, file size limits or page limits. The page says some templates are only available to licensed users of PDFelement for Windows.

Platforms

The page describes the service as online with “no downloads”. It also links to PDFelement desktop installers for Windows and macOS, iOS and Android apps, a Chrome extension and a Google Workspace add-on.

Pricing and refunds

The page does not state a pricing model or any prices. It links to a general shop page rather than a pricing page. It links to a refund policy, but does not state its terms.

Operator

The footer shows a Wondershare copyright and links to other Wondershare products. We state the operator as Wondershare on that basis.

Vendor claims

The page claims “20,000+ users” for its Chrome extension and says PDFs can be compressed “within seconds”. It gives translation coverage as “30+ languages” in one section and “50+ languages” in another. It shows G2 High Performer and PDF Association badges. These are the vendor’s own statements; we have not verified them.

What is not stated

  • Usage caps, file size and page limits for free use.
  • Pricing model.
  • Refund terms beyond the link.
  • System requirements for the web service.
